因創辦獨立雜誌而被逮捕判刑、因發表政治異議或參與抗爭而流亡海外⋯⋯聽起來是不是很熟悉？這些台灣白色恐怖時期的歷史，正是泰國的現在進行式。

此刻，泰國仍有破千人政治案纏身、遭酷刑致死，其中，Prakaidao Phurksakasemsuk 的父母都是社運人士，父親因創立批判性獨立雜誌遭判刑，她的伴侶則因投入政治活動流亡海外、2020 年遭強迫失蹤——這成了她積極關注政治受難者權益的重要契機，多次公開為家人發聲，並支持政治暴力倖存者及其親友。

然而，即使在已結束漫長威權歲月的台灣，都清楚這並不容易。

威權統治所帶來的影響，不只在受難者身上，更是整個家庭與社會的集體創傷。政治受難者親屬不只得承受家人被監禁或離世的哀痛，也會在長期高壓的政治環境裡面臨嚴密監控、騷擾、噤聲與污名，這些種種困難也造成了沉重的生計壓力。對於女性受難者親屬而言，她們可能得擔負生計與照顧的責任，同時承擔整個家庭的政治暴力記憶與創傷。

政治暴力在 Prakaidao Phurksakasemsuk 身上留下什麼影子？作為社運二代、政治受難者親屬，她如何面對親人與伴侶遭受的政治暴力，又如何公開訴說暴力與傷痛，進一步支持其他遭受政治暴力與迫害的群體？這場講座，她將與我們分享自身面對政治暴力、修復與抗爭的旅途。

關於講者：

Prakaidao Phurksakasemsuk 的父母皆為社運人士，從小就參與公共事務。她的父親身為泰國著名工運領袖，曾因創辦獨立雜誌及發表批判性言論而入獄，她的伴侶則因參與政治活動而流亡海外、強迫失蹤。Prakaidao Phurksakasemsuk 現任泰國人權組織「跨文化基金會（Cross Cultural Foundation）」執行長，致力於支持遭受酷刑、強迫失蹤等政治暴力的受難者與倖存者，包括法律扶助、問責加害者、倡議制度改革與公眾教育，也關注原住民、LGBT+ 等更容易遭受政治暴力的邊緣化群體。

People are prosecuted for founding independent magazines or forced into exile for political criticism and resistance. For a Taiwanese audience familiar with the history of the White Terror, this sounds all too familiar. Yet, for Thai society, this is the current reality.

In Thailand, where over a thousand political cases remain unresolved and individuals still die under torture, Prakaidao Phurksakasemsuk's father was sentenced to prison for founding a critical independent magazine, and her partner was forced into exile for political activism before being forcibly disappeared in 2020. Consequently, Prakaidao has become a vocal advocate for the rights of political victims, supporting numerous survivors of political violence and their families, while striving for a society free from torture, abuse, and political violence.

As a second-generation activist, Prakaidao plays a crucial role in supporting political prisoners. However, as those who lived through or understand the authoritarian White Terror era know, this path is far from easy.

The White Terror leaves scars not only on the victims of political violence but also haunts their families and society at large. Families of victims did not merely endure the grief of having loved ones imprisoned or lost; they also faced intense surveillance, harassment, silencing, and stigmatization within an oppressive political climate. As female relatives, many were forced to bear the dual burden of sustaining the household and providing care while carrying the weight of traumatic memories.

How does one confront the political violence inflicted upon loved ones? How can this pain be transformed into advocacy for activists and a practice of mutual care? During this event, Prakaidao will share her personal journey of confronting violence against her family, speaking out on their behalf, and her practical experiences in accompanying and supporting diverse groups suffering from political violence and persecution.

About the Speaker: 

Prakaidao Phurksakasemsuk currently serves as the Executive Director of the Cross Cultural Foundation (CrCF), a human rights organization in Thailand. Her father is a renowned human rights movement leader who was imprisoned for founding an independent magazine and voicing critical opinions. Her partner was exiled for political activities and subsequently forcibly disappeared. Together with her organization, she is dedicated to supporting victims and survivors of political violence, including torture and forced disappearances. Their work includes providing legal aid, supporting families of political victims, seeking accountability for perpetrators, advocating for institutional reform, and conducting public education. They also place special emphasis on marginalized groups most vulnerable to political violence, such as indigenous peoples and the LGBTQ+ community.
