(School of Public Policy and International Affairs)的MPP碩士候選人。
After Taiwan's Great Recall Movement: A Dialogue with Kunthida Rungruengkiat on How to Cope with Political Setbacks and Collective Anxiety
Taiwan's recent Great Recall Movement ended in disappointment, with none of the targeted conservative legislators successfully removed. While the campaign itself marked a powerful mobilization of civil society and the public, bringing 24 legislators into the recall process, it has left many activists and citizens grappling with frustration and uncertainty about Taiwan’s political future.
At this critical moment, the Asia Citizen Future Association (ACFA) seeks to create a space for reflection: How do we cope with political setbacks? How do we process collective disappointment and emotional burnout? And how do we continue building momentum for long-term democratic change?
In this event, ACFA invites Kunthida Rungruengkiat, former Member of Parliament and former deputy leader of Thailand’s now-dissolved Future Forward Party, to share her insights. Thailand’s progressive movement has built massive public support and even won the 2023 general election, but was again blocked from forming a government due to legal and institutional suppression.
Despite repeated setbacks, the movement continues to grow, adapt, and inspire. Now Executive Director of the Progressive Movement Foundation, Kunthida will share her insights and experience in mobilizing and organizing local communities.
